Flutist and Chicago native Elizabeth Diaz is well versed in diverse musical traditions. Between her extraordinary abilities in extended technique and her specialty in classical music, Elizabeth has tremendously expanded her repertoire to include Western Classical flute, Latin, and a wide variety of Middle Eastern music genres.

In 2010, Elizabeth was accepted to the prestigious Chamber and Orchestra Performance Fellowship with the Chicago Sinfonietta Later, in 2011, she won a position in the flute section of the Chicago Modern Orchestra Project, where she was recently featured as a soloist alongside Greg Blackburn, her flute mentor. Elizabeth performs regularly in many of Chicago’s celebrated venues, including the Chicago Symphony Center, Harris Theater, Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park, the Chicago Cultural Center, South Shore Cultural Center, and for Chicago’s classical music radio station WFMT. She has also participated in music festivals in Latin America and Europe and has performed alongside world-renowned musicians such as Nicole Mitchel, James Sanders, Douglas Ewart, Renee Baker, Henry Grimmes and Yo-Yo Ma.
