Atlanta Symphony Hall
1280 Peachtree St, Atlanta, GA 30309
Thee Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's 72nd season comes to an exciting crescendo with a dramatic duet, a sweeping sea saga and the world premiere of a Shakespeare-inspired composition. Under the baton of Maestro Robert Spano, the ASO is set to fill Symphony Hall with the evocative sounds of "Four Sea Interludes" from Benjamin Britten's tragic opera "Peter Grimes", while soprano Twyla Robinson, tenor Clifton Forbis and bass Daniel Sumegi join the orchestra for a performance of the first-act climax of Wagner's "Die Walkure", in which the hero Siegmund reunites with his true love Sieglinde in grand operatic fashion. And kicking off the concert is the ASO Rapido commission "The Songs of Ophelia", by award-winning composer-pianist Mark Buller.
