2016 has been a magical year for Acoustic Eidolon. Hannah Alkire had a new cello built by world renowned cello maker Christopher Dungey, and after Chris cut the wood for this cello, they discovered that there was enough wood left to build Joe Scott a new guitar, making these instruments a matched set! Joe commissioned master guitar luthier Beau Hannam, and the new instruments were born in July 2016. These two instruments were used to write and record many of the songs on AE’s new CD, “A Tree Finds It’s Voice”, which features new originals as well as some surprising new cover tunes. This concert will take the audience on the journey from the tree to the builders’ workshops, the creation of these instruments and the music they’ve inspired. Don’t miss this opportunity to see and hear the premier of these magnificent instruments. AE’s annual Rialto concerts have become a staple in the community and sell out, so get your tickets early. “A Tree Finds Its Voice” is an emotional and evocative collection of pieces that were inspired by the new matched cello and guitar, built from the same pieces of wood (curly maple backs and sides, and Engelmann spruce tops). Highlights include the song we wrote for the tree, epic instrumental covers of "Sound of Silence" and Queen’s "Bohemian Rhapsody" and lush melodies of "O Shenandoah" and more.
