Sierra Hulls breakout album Weighted Mind, produced by Bela Fleck, features the young mandolin virtuoso coming into her own as a singer-songwriter. Hull first joined Alison Krauss on stage at the Grand Ole Opry when she was just 11 years old, and she has been astonishing audiences and fellow musicians alike ever since. She was the first bluegrass musician to receive a Presidential Scholarship at the Berklee College of Music. Now a seasoned touring musician nearing her mid 20s, Hull speaks eloquently in her challenging and sensitive original songs with heartfelt vocals, and once again she is breaking new ground on the mandolin. The Chicago Tribune praised Hulls crystalline voice, and Rolling Stone listed her performance as one of the 8 best things they saw at DelFest. info at pinecone.org
