GIRL KILLS BOY are a high energy alt-rock trio from Castleford, UK. Appealing to fans of Alkaline Trio, Blink 182 and Breaking Benjamin, GKB offer a fantastic blend of powerful guitar melodies and soaring vocal hooks, backed by exciting bass lines and solid drum rhythms. After a 6 year break - GKB are back, and hungry to hit the road our their unique blend of pop-punk-rock! We are currently in the studio writing and demoing new material, ready to take our show out across the UK. Life for GKB started out in February 2006, when Johno (Bass) and Andy (Drums) met through mutual friend Dale (Guitar/Vocals)… through a shared love of pop-punk, in particular Blink 182. After deciding to get together for a jam of some of their favourite songs, GKB began to take shape quickly. After the jam session, the guys left for the pub… with 3 original songs finalised. After a few beers and a night of reflection, the lads realised that the chemistry between the 3 guys was so ‘on-point’ and decided to continue to write music together. On this night, Girl Kills Boy was born. The fast pace continued, with GKB playing their first hometown show at The Lion in April 2006, and spending the next couple of months playing any show they could get on the bill of, including shows at local staple music venues THE COUNTING HOUSE, Pontefract, THE SNOOTY FOX, Wakefield and RIO’S, Leeds. In July 2006 GKB played down the THIS IS ME EP featuring fan favourites MY LAST DAY and TELL ME. Constantly working on their craft, GKB continued to tour their show around Yorkshire and Northern England throughout 2006-2008, stopping only to hit the recording studio again in March of 07, to lay down the SILHOUETTES & SUNSETS EP which featured another fan favourite track - THE END. In the winter of 2008 and through into 2009, GKB successfully progressed through the regional heats (held at Leeds Rio’s) to the national final of THE RED BATTLE, a nationally run battle of the bands, which climaxed with an appearance at the O2 (then Carling) Academy in Liverpool, with another 9 of the UK’s hottest unsigned acts! GKB crossed the line in 5th place! In 2010 GKB began work on a 3rd EP, fine tuning tracks written over the previous 3 years, when it was decided that the band would go on a hiatus. As time passed, the itch began to grow stronger and in the fall of 2015, plans were put in place to reform the band, start writing kick-ass music again, and hit the road again in 2016.
