CatsMelvin following no set formula to make music. In no set genre, or style continues to produce creative music with an ever changing cast of quality musicians. The only constant being the voice and lyrics of Michael Amend.  CatsMelvin has evolved musically by touring all over the United States since 2011. in various forms and styles. CatsMelvin musicians have been from throughout the world, both playing live and in studio. CatsMelvin continues to connect with a greater audience in the sea of musical styles. With several projects under way, at various stages. An EP now released.  Recorded and mixed at Electrical Audio in Chicago, IL. by legendary Sound Engineer Steve Albini. The 6 song EP, called "Color Me In" in which the song lyrics deal with the darker to lighter shades of human emotions.   All the music was written and instruments were played by Sound Engineer Ben Brodin from ARC studios in Omaha, NE. CatsMelvin is in the mixing stage of a 20 song record with musicians from Japan. The music was recorded in a Tokyo studio by Japanese musicians. Then the vocals were done at ARC studios in Omaha, NE. with Ben Brodin, who is also mixing it. Release date is May 1st, 2016 CatsMelvin is set to release a 12 song record with musicians from Colorado. The songs were recorded in Ft. Collins, at the Blasting Room studios. the record was mixed at ARC studios in Omaha, NE. by Ben Brodin. Pink Floyd Punk Release date is May 1st, 2016 CatsMelvin is also working on another 10 song record in Athens, GA, with Producers Dave Barbe, and Andy Lemaster from Chase Park Transduction studios in Athens, GA. This record is a really dark look at the world. The music is all recorded, and the vocals are scheduled for summer of 2016, along with mixing. CatsMelvin also has a project underway in Nashville, TN. with Producer Chris Grainger, a 10 song, CatsMelvin Outlaw Country record. It is in the overdub, and mixing stage. The musicians are all studio musicians, based in Nashville. Waylon Jennings Political sound. Release date is fall of 2016 CatsMelvin is currently working with musicians from Seattle on a new project. It will be mixed and produced by Ben Tanner from the band Alabama Shakes, in Muscle Shoals, AL. CatsMelvin will begin playing live again with this version of CatsMelvin in 2016.
