Louise Aubrie Biography

Louise Aubrie is an indie rock musician who splits her time between her hometown of London and her adopted town of New York City, bringing together the electrifying spirit of both cities.
Louise first started writing and recording music in London before developing her signature sound over many years living and playing in New York City. She has been described as “brilliant” by BBC 6 Music and “magnificent” by Louder Than War, and compared to Blondie, The Smiths, The Pretenders and The Killers.
During her career, Louise has recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, at Knight Time Studios (originally commissioned by Steve Lillywhite), and in Europe and New York City. She has played at renowned venues in London (The 100 Club, The Brooklyn Bowl at the O2 Centre) and in NYC (The Bitter End, The Bowery Electric).
Over the years, Louise has worked with Boz Boorer (musical director and co-writer for Morrissey), Andy Woodard (musical director and drummer for Adam Ant), Tom Edwards (guitarist for Adam Ant, Edwyn Collins), Roger Joseph Manning Jr (keyboards for The Killers, Beck, Morrissey), David Ruffy (drummer for The Ruts, The Waterboys), James Knight (producer for The Kooks, Kirsty MacColl), Ken Sluiter (mixer/engineer for Morrissey, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sum 41, Mark Almond), Cam Blackwood (producer/engineer for George Ezra, Jack Savoretti) and Dave Collins (mastering for Jane’s Addiction, No Doubt, Weezer).
Louise’s debut album, ‘Fingers Crossed…’, was released in 2010 to critical acclaim in the UK and US, receiving national radio airplay. It was produced by Boz Boorer and described as “excellent” by Billboard Discoveries.
In 2013, Louise released her second album ‘Time Honoured Alibi’ with Boz Boorer once more at the helm, both as a producer and a co-writer with Louise on a new track. The lead single ‘Where Are You’ was consistently in the Top 5 of Digital Radio Tracker’s National US Airplay Independent Charts and in the Top 10 most requested at Indie 104 iRadio LA.
‘Late 44’, Louise’s third album, was released in 2016. Recorded at Abbey Road Studios and produced by James Knight, the lead single ‘Winter Dolour’ was featured on national BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music, along with international radio play, and garnered outstanding reviews in the music press.
Louise’s fourth studio album ‘When I Don’t Love You I’ll Let You Know’ was released in 2019 and was inspired by classic Cary Grant movies. It was produced by Andy Woodard, with Boz Boorer adding his incomparable guitar parts. The singles ‘On The Run’ and ‘Enough’ were featured on BBC 6 Music and in a live session for BBC Radio London.
Louise’s latest record, ‘Antonio’, will be released in Spring 2021. Recorded at Studio 55 and RFL Studios in London, it features Francis Horovitch on guitars, Boz Boorer on guitars, keys and percussion, Andy Woodard on drums and bass, and Roger Joseph Manning Jr on guest keys. It is produced by Andy Woodard, mixed by Ken Sluiter and mastered by Dave Collins Audio in Los Angeles, CA.
