Oregon Ballet Theatre performs one of the most famous ballets of all time, "Swan Lake". The ballet tells the story of young lovers Odette and Siegfred. Odette has been captured by the evil sorcerer von Rothbart and transformed into a swan. Siegfred only has a short time to save his beloved before it's too late and she is cursed to remain a swan forever. Standing in his way is von Rothbart's daughter, the beguiling black swan Odile, who comes to tempt and distract him away from his quest. OBT's production of this famous ballet is choreographed by artistic director Christopher Stowell, who brings forth the grandeur of the achingly beautiful Tchaikovsky score with majestic lines of white-clad ballerinas, the seductive allure of the black swan and the pure beauty and grace of the white swan.
