Martin Joey Dine

Biography French : Martin Joey Dine est né à Montmorency, le 1er Février 1992. Il commence le piano à l’âge de 6 ans. En 2008, à 16, il est admis à la prestigieuse école Jazz à Tours ou il commence à étudier le piano avec Guillaume de Chassy. En 2010, à 18 ans, il est admis au C.R.R de Paris et étudie l'harmonie complexe, l'arrangement et la composition avec Emile Spanyi, Carine Bonnefoy, Benjamin Moussay. C'est durant cette période qu'il assiste à des master-classes avec Enrico Pieranunzi, Pierre de Bethmann, Yaron Herman, Andy Emler, Hervé Sellin, Jean-Christophe Cholet, Hein Van de Gein, Jerry Bergonzi, Gaël Horellou, Les Soeurs Jensen, Michael Cheret, Romane. En 2011, il débute sa carrière, devient un artiste certifié sacem. Martin, âgé d'à peine 19 ans se rend à New York en 2012 avec son trio (Pierre Chastel, Edward Perez) pour une tournée. C’est après avoir remporté le deuxième prix du Tremplin Jeune Talent de Saint-Germain-des-Près, que Martin Joey Dine, 20 ans, se rend avec Darryl Hall, Rémi Vignolo, Maxime Berton et Baptiste Herbin en studio afin d’enregistrer Wario, son premier album en leader. L'album recevra de nombreuses éloges auprès de la presse spécialisée (France Bleu, FIP, Radio Campus, Jazz Magazine, Papier Vynile). En 2012, Martin Joey Dine entame une activité de professeur de piano à l’école de musiques actuelles Note’n Groove à Orléans sous la direction de Therry Robin. En Décembre 2013, il est lauréat du concours international de piano jazz Boris Vian et remporte le prix du public et le premier prix du jury à l'unanimité. Durant l'année 2013, Martin Joey Dine produit une tournée de dix concerts avec le rappeur Taïpan (Bomayé Music) mais c'est en Février 2014 qu'il rentre en studio avec son nouveau groupe pour enregistrer son deuxième album en leader Copperfield. Cet album verra le jour en Octobre 2016. Martin Joey Dine, pour ce projet, s'entoure de Rodolphe Lauretta (alto), Nicolo Ricci (tenor sax), Othello Ravez (didgeridoos), Gael Petrina (bass / doublebass), Tim Campanella (batterie), Alexis Kasinos (guitare). En 2015, il est admis en Bachelor au Conservatorium van Amsterdam où il suivra un double cursus de performance et de pédagogie.. Outre sa progression en Anglais, Martin Joey Dine compose en Avril 2016 l'introduction de l'album Copperfield ("The Mysterious Side of Amsterdam") avec un orchestre symphonique. L'arrangement est signé Bela Horvat, violoniste et chef d'orchestre Slovène. Avec entres autres, Alexandre Tkaboca (flute), Carlos Anez (flute), Anouk Dolfing (oboe), Cynthia A. Pérez Cossío (bassoon), Esin Yardmili (violin), Anna Cikste (violin), Lara Albesano (viola), Xenia Watson (cello), Pierre-Antoine Blanc (doublebass). En Mai 2016, il compose la bande-original du court-métrage de Hugo Le Baill, « Equinoxe » pour 13 musiciens classique, la musique est enregistré dans un appartement de 25 m² à Ijburg et enregistrée par Hajime Suzuki. La même année , Martin Joey Dine entâme une collaboration avec les managers et bookers, Sabrina Bouzidi & Colette Pitet (NEENA / Jazzement Vôtre) et poursuit son parcourt avec en tête, la production d'un troisième album. He started playing piano at the age of 6, taking private lessons with several teachers. At age 16 he was admitted at the "Jazz a Tours" school where he studied ethnomusicology, jazz theory and history, small and big band arrangement, harmony, piano lessons with Guillaume de Chassy and attended workshops for two years. Following his studies, Martin came to Paris and studied an additional three years at the Conservatory of Paris with Emile Spanyi, Philippe Poussard, Carine Bonnefoy and Benjamin Moussay. Martin Joey Dine has received the second prize of the «Saint Germain des Près» competition at the Sunside Jazz Club (Paris) and has recorded his first album as a leader, titled «Wario» and featuring Darryl Hall, Rémi Vignolo, Baptiste Herbin and Maxime Berton. In 2012, Martin travelled to New York to plays series of trio gigs in few jazz club of the city. In 2013, he wrote the original soundtrack for Patrizia Mariani's documentary for the german-french TV channel ARTE. The same year, he won the Boris Vian international jazz piano competition and recorded his second album as a leader titled «Copperfield» with Tim Campanella, Gael Petrina, Rodolphe Lauretta, Nicolo Ricci, Alexis Kasinos and Othello Ravez. In 2016, Martin Joey Dine is admitted to the prestigious Conservatorium van Amsterdam where he's actually studying a Jazz performance and pedagogy program of Bachelor of music. The same year, he compose The Mysterious Side of Amsterdam, a little concerto for piano and symphonic orchestra, arranged by Bela Horvat and the original sound-track of Hugo Le Baill's "Equinoxe" short movie. Since the age of 13, Martin has performed regularly on many stages in Paris, Orléans, Tours, London, Amsterdam, New York and Lisboa, in solo or with his own projects.
