Ash is a Robot Biography

Ash is a Robot is a post-hardcore band from Setúbal, Portugal, by Cláudio Anibal, João Descalço, Francisco Caetano, and Vasco Rydin. Having started out in mid-2012, everything just clicked and happened very fast. After touring their home country extensively, as well as Spain, the band, which includes members from several known portuguese underground acts (Monogono, Marte, Porn Sheep Hospital, Beautiful Venom) want to bring their energic and diverse sound to a broader audience. Their upcoming first studio record comprises a mixture of modern post-hardcore and more classic rock and roll, favouring rock riffs over metal. It is truly a record without borders, each track drawing from different influences and flavours. Their live performances have been acclaimed by the portuguese underground audience and media, with their strong commitment to honoring the quality and energy of the bands that influence their sound (from Refused to King Crimson, Converge to Sparta). Ash is a Robot are set to release on the 25th of Novembro their second full-length: Return of the Pariah: The Chronicles of Edward. The album, which was successfully financed with a crowdfunding campaign in early 2016, marks the return of the Portuguese post-hardcore band, this time with more electronic and melodic sounds, mixing prog influences while at the same time keeping alive the punk and hardcore roots.
