Davies Symphony Hall
201 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, CA 94102
Gustav Mahler's "Das klagende Lied" is one of the composer's earliest and most complex works. This cantata, performed by a chorus and symphony, tells the story of two brothers -- one gallant and heroic, the other scheming and evil -- who embark on a quest to find a rare flower in exchange for a queen's hand in marriage. This performance by the San Francisco Symphony and Chorus at Davies Symphony Hall incorporates costumes, lighting and videography to bring this dark fairytale story of love and betrayal to life.
