Davies Symphony Hall
201 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, CA 94102
A true classical music superstar, Grammy-winning violinist Joshua Bell first gained fame for his incredible virtuosity and beautiful tone at the tender age of 17. Since then, he's released more than 40 recordings, many of which hit No. 1 on the "Billboard" classical charts, and was the solo performer on John Corigliano's Oscar-winning soundtrack to "The Red Violin". Hailed as "imaginative, technically gifted and altogether extraordinary" ("The Washington Post"), Bell now joins the San Francisco Symphony at Davies Symphony Hall to perform Edouard Lalo's romantic masterpiece "Symphonie espagnole", a technical feat of rhapsodic complexity -- and an incredibly fun crowd-pleaser. Led by the great Russian conductor Vasily Petrenko, the SF Symphony will cap off the night with a performance of Rachmaninoff's timeless Symphony No. 1.
