Davies Symphony Hall
201 Van Ness Ave, San Francisco, CA 94102
The Danish National Symphony Orchestra is one of Europe's leading orchestras and the world's leading proponent of the music of Carl Nielsen. Under the leadership of Italian maestro and new principal conductor Fabio Luisi, the orchestra comes to Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco to perform Nielsen's orchestra showpiece, the "Helios" Overture, Wagner's "Wesendonck-Lieder" and Beethoven's Symphony No. 3, "Eroica". Joining them for this performance is acclaimed American operatic soprano Deborah Voigt. Internationally revered for her performances in the operas of Wagner and Richard Strauss, she's also portrayed some of the heroines of the Italian opera, and has been profiled in "People", "Vanity Fair" and on "60 Minutes".
