Sam Luff Music

Sam was drawn to music from a very young age. Having taken up trumpet at 10, and singing from the age of 13, he realised that this was where his passion is, and that nothing was going to stop him from making it big. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Music majoring in Jazz voice at the Queensland Conservatorium of music, and his dedication to his art has since rewarded him with the opportunity to perform as a featured vocalist for Creative Generation at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre alongside Australian country music legend Lee Kernaghan and Australian Idol 2004 star Ricki-Lee Coulter, as well as performing at the Brisbane Convention Centre with Australian Idol 2009 winner Stan Walker. But his solo project is only a small glimpse into his promising career. Sam also demonstrates exceptional skills in composing, transcribing and arranging, which have expanded his horizons far beyond the acoustic sound. Having arranged pieces for ensembles such as the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and The Southern Cross Soloists, he is experienced in capturing the sounds of nearly any genre and adapting them for vastly different instrumentation. His versatility continues further back into the pop industry, as the front man of Brisbane based alternative-punk band “New Face Of Failure”. Formed in 2011 with bandmate Doug Stenning, Sam has shown his passion for the punk scene as the main writer and lead vocalist for the band, which are currently in the process of releasing their debut EP, which is being produced by the frontman himself. Sam offers these valuable producing skills to other musicians regularly, with experience producing/recording other acoustic artists and bands in his home studio.
