Parallel Lives

Parallel Lives is a new Carrboro based indie-folk-rock band featuring Nick White and Eli Howells. These experienced musicians have been in former local bands such as Bears In The City and Morning Brigade. Fronted by Nick White and his acoustic guitar, you can’t help but become mesmerized by Nick’s radiant stage presence and his soulful voice. His song writing is emotional and deep, allowing you to hear stories from his past. Eli Howells was the violin player for local favorites Morning Brigade, from the moment his bow touches a string you can’t help but feel the presence of the Appalachian mountains. The melodic strings in Parallel Lives give a very soothing and powerful sound. The Daily Tarheel wrote “Nick White leads the band with his emphatic guitar, crisp vocals and emotional songwriting. His music spans across a large spectrum, going from light and poppy while smoothly transitioning to a heavier or quieter sound.” Resound Magazine claims “White impressed the audience with his swift fingers on the keys and sexy James Morison esque voice.”
