La Fin Absolute du Monde

La Fin Absolute du Monde was born November 17, 2009, in a chance meeting of Cyndy Melanio and Jason Myles at the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas. At first encounter, Jason wooed the heart of Cyndy when he suggested with a very serious face, “You should quit your job here in Las Vegas and move to San Francisco because we can make music and walk around the city holding hands because you are going to be my girlfriend”. Intrigued with the notion of playing music with a beautiful stranger and not knowing which musical direction to proceed, the couple intertwined each their own diversely bold auditory flavors. With a background in heavy music, Jason’s aggressive contribution matches in intensity, complementary beautiful and haunting melodies. Cyndy, whose nickname, Chicky, endearingly given by her now husband and caught on by their rapidly growing extended family, holds multiple degrees (including from the world renowned, Royal Conservatory of Music) in classical music majoring in classical piano performance with a minor in Spanish classical guitar. In addition, she grew up playing various woodwind and brass instruments and strives to utilize her learned knowledge to add richness and epic sounds and moods. Together, La Fin’s sound is a deep side-to-side and sometimes back-and-forth head-nodding listening experience that will confuse you in being turned on yet at the same time, disturbingly unsettled. Not for conventional mass appeal, La Fin has traveled relentlessly throughout the US, UK and parts of Canada and Mexico to reach out to the the fringe folk that inhabits every nook and cranny abroad. Living out of a van, they gave up all comforts of living and packed their music gear and few clothes to bring themselves closer to like-minded individuals who share the same struggle of finding purpose and acceptance in one’s own environment. Since then, their lives have been challenged by several major obstacles where they faced homeless poverty, physical danger and emotional turmoil. It is with the gracious hospitality of the kindest strangers and supporting peers that give the only clarity for La Fin. That is, the duo looks forward with open arms to welcome what may come.
