David Geffen Hall
10 Lincoln Center Plaza, New York, NY 10023
Virtuoso pianist Kirill Gerstein joins conductor Semyon Bychkov and the New York Philharmonic for a soaring evening of classical music at David Geffen Hall as part of the Tchaikovsky Festival. In 2010, the acclaimed Russian-American pianist received the prestigious Gilmore Artist Award and was also named a Carnegie Hall "Rising Star." The program features a dazzling performance of Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto, which "The New York Times" promises to be "a brilliant, perceptive and stunning fresh account of Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto" with its epic pyrotechnics and powerful melodies. The program also includes "Manfred Symphony", Tchaikovsky's emotional four-movement symphony inspired by Lord Byron's dramatic poem "Manfred".
