About this concert
How successful do these three brilliant creative people feel? Critics’ Circle Award winning actor and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge, recently seen as Lulu in her screen-writing debut Crashing, will be in conversation with Dennis Kelly and Colin MacIntyre. Kelly wrote his first play at 30 and has since written over 20 more including Matilda the Musical with Tim Minchin. MacIntyre, who as well as a having a successful recording career under his own name and the Mull Historical Society, has lept off the edge recently by writing his Edinburgh Book Festival award-winning debut novel. Together they will discuss what drives them to continue to create new work, take different directions and leap into the void.

Colin MacIntyre Biography

Colin MacIntyre (born 8 April 1971), is a Scottish singer, song-writer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and author. His previous albums have been released under the name 'Mull Historical Society', even though the band consists of Colin alone.

February 2008 saw the release of his fourth studio album entitled "The Water". This album saw Colin MacIntyre break with tradition both in using his own name and in working with a producer for the first time (Loss, Us and This is Hope were self produced). The new album was produced by Nick Franglen from the group Lemon Jelly.
