Dana Bradshaw Biography
Dana Bradshaw, born and raised in southern Michigan, became obsessed with guitar the minute he picked up his first at the age of 13. He studied under the tutelage of master classical guitarist, Michael Lorimer, a favorite protégé of Andres Segovia, and graduated from University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Classical Guitar Performance. Though trained in classical guitar, Dana brings to his brand an interwoven element of rock, country and blues. He draws inspiration from icons, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons and Eric Clapton, fashioning themes ranging from Eddie Van Halen to Randy Rhoads. You can also hear the distinctly classical notes of influences from Michael Lorimer and John Williams in his playing. Unique to Dana is the distinctive eight-finger tapping, which he demonstrates in his performances. His talent has recently been noticed by guitarist legend, Zakk Wylde, via the Guitar Center/Zakk Wylde Master Class contest. Out of 4,000 entries, Dana and four other artists won the competition with a talented rendition of Wylde’s song, Sleeping Dogs. Traditionally a man of rock and blues, Dana has recently made the transition into country music with Alan Turner & the Steel Horse Band, to which he brings his unmistakably sound on lead guitar. With a growing internet following, he continues to make waves in the music world, executing an uncompromising technicality on lead guitar with a haunting resonance. A Winner of the Zakk Wylde Guitar Center Master Class Competition. Chosen by Zakk Wylde & GC, One of the Best Unsigned Guitarist in the Nation.
