Mayne Mannish Biography

Mayne Mannish catches listeners by surprise. Mayne’s music is no doubt fun and exhilarating. It maintains polished beats behind crazy lyrics, enthralling fans with his conceptual style and sound. He has a different approach when it comes to rap and in creating the music he envisions. “Not too much makes me different from other rappers,” Mayne says, “except for my unique delivery. I don’t sound like anyone else.” Like most artists, Mayne Mannish was exposed to the eclectic world of music at an early age. From his mother’s side, Mayne picked up on many of his family’s talents. “When I was younger, I used to see my uncles play all the instruments you could name.” Mayne’s inclination toward rap developed as he grew older. He became inspired by what many fans admired in the eighties and nineties, like E-40, Jay Z, Puff, Jim Jones, 50 Cent, and Camron Kanye. Mayne remembers: “They inspire me so much because not only are they artists, but business men as well.” Mayne Mannish’s aspirations become noticeable when he is put to work. Pulling all-nighters at the studio, the artist Mayne produces new songs which he can only describe in three simple, yet precise words: Crazy, Fun, and Cool. As a business man, he wakes up early in the morning, goes to the gym, and gets the day started by setting up appointments. And such dedication can definitely pay off. Few Bay Area musicians have ever reached stardom in the hip hop world and even fewer from Oakland, California have even tasted the sweetness of success in the industry. Industry leaders claim that this phenomena is a result of the Bay Area’s lack of motivation. Mayne Mannish, on the other hand, hails from Berkeley and is arduously juggling music and management—an indication that not everyone from the Bay is indolent. An example of this would be Mayne’s work with Hyphy Juice Energy Drink. In 2006, his team launched a campaign for their drink (www.hyphyjuice.com). It created a national buzz, surpassing all the expectations of its energy drink competitors. Bay Area rappers, including E-40, Keak Da Sneak, and Balance all gave Hyphy Juice a wave of support. Fans can see the signature Hyphy Juice brand in Too Short’s “Blow the Whistle” music video, which was featured by the popular stations MTV and BET. And to top it all off, Mayne’s contribution to The Teams song, “Hyhpy Juice,” further popularized the energy drink and made the album reach top fifty on Billboard’s independent albums chart. Mayne Mannish has received much support and anticipates work with Moe Doe Entertainment, an independent rap label. “One of my short term goals is to get recognition this year for the things I do, such as help run Moe Doe with Clyde Carson.” Mayne is also building his own management company, called Mayne Management, and is due to release a new album titled Guily Pleasure. Despite the crunches of time, Mayne is still adamant about performing alongside artists who are just at passionate as he is, musicians who have the ability to create a hit song. And so in the long run, Mayne will make sure that when he gets to the top, he’ll stay at the top. “Most people get washed away—I want to stick until I’m ready to go.” When it comes to creating music, Mayne Mannish has no boundaries. He’ll go wherever the music will take him, whether it’d be hood songs, pop songs, or even rock songs. Nevertheless, he is unperturbed by what critics may say. Mayne says, “When other people hear my music, they tell me I’m crazy because I do and say what I want.” But then, this could just be the listeners taking a liking toward Mayne’s music. And perhaps an adoration for his insane, yet enthusiastic music. Mayne Mannish 1/3 of The Bay Area group "The Team" @MayneMannish
