Join us for a wild night as 14 amazing bands from around the world perform live at the SO36 Venue this 26th of May (Thursday) for the Annual GBOB WORLD FINAL BERLIN 2016. Winning bands from countries Australia, Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Moldova, Norway, Romania, Poland, Serbia, Switzerland, Singapore, Ukraine, and United Kingdom, will be playing their songs live before a worldwide audience – for hip Berliners and others watching online. In the words of Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), “Music’s not meant to be perfect. It’s meant to sound like the way YOU do it – the way you are possessed, empowered, inspired, enraged by it.” In a plasticized music industry, GBOB – the world’s independent championship for live bands with original content - intends to bring back the soul of music: that moment when all an Artist had to care about was the music and how obsessed and inspired he was by it. Just magic. He didn’t need a million YouTube views nor thousands of likes in Facebook to prove anything. He had himself, he knew his passion, and he wanted to take it to the world. GBOB has dedicated itself to finding genuine music and musicians like these, from every corner of this earth, be it in the jazz cafes of Armenia, the hustle and bustle of Singapore, or the wild punk revolutions of Russia. Music fans can expect an eclectic mix of music genres, from indie, pop, world music, rock, metal, others, and truly mind-blowing performances as the “best of the best” upcoming bands from around the world unleash everything they’ve got to win the Finale. Also, for the first time in history, the GBOB World Final will be involving all audiences around the world for a “Worldwide Vote” that will help determine the winner of the Finale. Fans watching in SO36 and in Live stream will be asked to choose 3 bands whom they feel are the best. As with the four other judges in the music industry, the results of the worldwide vote will have equal bearing as the four and will comprise one-fifth of the winning decision. Every year, GBOB searches for the best bands around the world through hundreds of local music ‘battles’. The winners from each country will then perform live at the GBOB World Final, which happens in a different country every year, the last years being in Malaysia, UK, Thailand, and Norway.
