Slambango Biography

Slambango is David Dawson (vocals, guitar); Shane Bell (vocals, bass); and Ted Black (drums). Three guys who love harmony and melody, and making high energy music. Hailing from the musical city of Atlanta, Slambango has been in existence since 2008, writing rock music and delivering their high-energy stage show to delighted fans all over Georgia. Dual harmony vocals and ferocious lead guitar defines Slambango, and you get exactly what you expect. But these guys aren't one trick ponies by any means. They have the ability to show their more sensitive side, and their diverse stream of influences such as: Pink Floyd, Green Day, Sammy Hagar, and Led Zeppelin. A review of Slambango I by Metronome Magazine said, "Slambango doesn't leave much to the imagination with their name. You know exactly what you're in for when you push this CD into your player...a healthy dose of power-soaked hard rock complete with blistering guitar solos, bombastic bass lines, powerhouse drumming and gut-wrenching vocals. Slambango architects Dave Dawson on vocals and guitar and Kevin Gilligan on bass and vocals make a formidable duo that takes the best from bands like Black Sabbath, DIO, and Judas Priest and designs a sound and vibe all their own." Slambango released their second album in 2014 "Out of Ashes" (the songwriting of Shane Bell brought a more thoughtful and melodic side of the band) and continue to prepare songs for the third, yet to be titled release. They also have an extensive repetoir of cover songs that range from the late 60's all the way through 2013. Equally comfortable playing a soft Jon Cougar or Bryan Adams song as they are playing Foo Fighters or Soundgarden, you never know what to expect. Moved to Massachusetts, currently in a rebuilding process.
