Metal Ships Biography
A veteran guitarist of many cover bands in the Twin Cities area, Gary decided in early 2013 it was time to get busy getting all those songs and riffs out of his head. Having played hundreds of shows all over Minnesota with many great cover bands(currently with Wicked Sensation and Maiden Minneapolis) and great musicians, he is looking forward to bringing his original music to rock/metal music fans everywhere. Using the combination of Surly Furious and burritos to fuel him, he began laying tracks down. What came out, is a mix of old school and newer metal music, as well as a mix of other styles and textures that have that heavy feel and groove to it. Not wanting to do all instrumental music, he teamed up with his favorite local singer, Felicia Wray, to provide lyrics and vocals to bring his music to life. Thus was formed the nucleus of Metal Ships. They hope you enjoy their first two offerings, and there will be more to come soon! Felicia Wray has been involved in the Twin City metal scene for some time as lead vocalist for Sirens of Titan, The Infernals, and Red Reign. She is currently the lead vocalist for Black Rainbow, a tribute band to the work of Ronnie James Dio and was the contributing vocalist for the electronic project Amyrrhond. Having met Gary Williamson at one of their tribute band's shows, she was looking for an original project to express her wild visions of alien take-overs and David Cronenberg stories. She found the right collaborator and co-conspirator in his epic music. Metal Ships combines the imagination of Gary Williamson and Felicia Wray; soaring, heavy, melodic, and soulful. www.metalships.bandcamp.com
