Xochitl

Xochitl is a 4 piece American alternative rock band based out of the diverse and artistic neighborhood of Silver Lake, CA. Initially comprised of LA natives Jerald Apelacio (guitars) and Israel Arechiga (vocals), Xochitl would prove to be the cohesive outlet that would divert their attention into something more gratifying, and putting to a halt the stasis of previous musical endeavors. While developing material within the latter half of 2011 (most of which found themselves on the eventual “Enigma EP”) the two sought out potential bandmates who shared the same vision and enthusiasm through networking and the classifieds. It was around this time when they came across their drummer, Florida native and current LA resident Vincent Befi, who instantly showed that he is instrumental to the foundation of Xochitl. Much to their dismay, finding a reliable 4th member would not be a simple task. Months into their inception Santa Clarita resident Jonathan Montez came into the fold, bringing forth an arsenal of hopes and dreams that would parallel those of the pre-existing band members. Finally finding confidence in their presentation, Xochitl booked gigs around the Los Angeles circuit where they have been praised for their wide array of sound and their perplexing yet alluring display. A year into their formation the band teamed up with Los Angeles independent producer and musician Matt Ferrari to record their EP at his recording studio “Psycho Monkey Studios” in Northridge, CA. Fall of 2012 was embedded with memories of extensive and agonizing hours of perfecting the record. Matt Ferrari managed to impress the band with his diligence and outstanding work ethic; a component the band needed upon work on their first record. The band’s first EP and recording “Enigma” was released in the winter of 2012 to much acclaim and appraisal. The band then subsequently set out to promote the record with countless gigs around LA. Xochitl's sonic delivery is an eclectic display that runs the gamut of various musical spectrum.The band is now going around the circuit to share their art with the world and revel in random acts of senseless folly.
