RIVE GAUCHE is a new band of Alexandre Destrez who is the pianist for ST GERMAIN's Boulevard and Tourist albums, all SHAZZ, OSCAR's albums, and many other international Djs and Producers. In 1995 we can hear for the first time Alexandre Destrez's keyboards on "Boulevard" (F Com), his first record, and then later on "From Detroit to St Germain" (F Com) especially with the much acclaimed "Deep in It" and "Soul Salsa Soul" tracks. And of course in the album "Tourist" (Blue Note) which sold over 3 million copies worldwide. Alexandre also collaborated with numerous artists on the French electro scene such as Shazz (Album nominated for the Victoires de la Musique in 1999), Dimitri From Paris, Martin Solveig (Album « Hedonist » nominated for the Victoires de la Musique in 2006), Oscar, Dj Yass … Alexandre is carrying on with this Electro Jazz adventure with the first release of RIVE GAUCHE EP + Gilles Peterson & Simbad remixes the 26th of February 2016 on BBE Records (London). While waiting for the release of RIVE GAUCHE's album which is scheduled for 2017, Alexandre Destrez introduces his new compositions during live performances. He is backed up by the DJ and producer David.H for composition, beats and samples, as well as by jazz musicians each with their own talents.
