Matt & Jill have been collaborating musically since 2003 on a zillion different projects, and finally created HOT BREAKFAST! in 2009. It's been dork-rock acoustic-punk magic ever since Matt put his acoustic guitar through an overdrive pedal. We've played on stages from Delaware to California and many places in between, from small intimate venues like The Tin Angel (Philadelphia) to festivals like Wilmo Rock Circus (Delaware), Burning Man (Nevada), and SXSW (Austin). We've been known to rock a house concert, too! In March of 2013, we were absolutely thrilled (and floored) to win two 2012 Homey Awards; one for BEST EP for our self-produced and self-titled EP ("Hot Breakfast!"), and for BEST LEAD SINGER (for Jill Knapp's larynx and Matt's ability to write songs in comfortable keys), and in 2014 we brought home two more: BEST SONGWRITER (for Matt's madd skillz) and BEST COLLABORATION (for "This is Our Hit Song" - a satirical techno song we did with our hero and pal Todd Chappelle). We are neither the defunct band from Vancouver BC, the college cover band from Massachusetts nor the morning radio shows in Australia and Uganda. We are Delaware's PREMIER acoustic dork-rock power duo. Some have even called us acoustic punk. Either way, we're just happy to get to do what we love for our fist-pumping fans.
