Chris Jackson Biography

Chris started playing guitar at age 13 thanks to a few important people in his life. His Uncle T was always around and listening to Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn, among others, and Chris showed interest. Enough so that Uncle T bought him a guitar to get started with. It was an off brand but was a copy of a rare guitar that Hendrix played only a few times. Once he got the guitar his father Jim took him down to the local music store and bought his first practice amp. A Gorilla! Uncle T has the original guitar and Chris still has that Gorilla amp. Chris played non-stop in his bedroom after school until he was told to go to bed at night by his mother. He owned pretty much every rock album ever released and would sit with his record player and play along with the songs trying to perfect the instrument. He joined his first band at age 15 and they played in a garage and did a few shows for friends at parties etc. Along the way, Chris studied music theory at Richland College and also studied jazz piano at the Dallas School of Music for 2 years. He went through many different bands over the years and landed in Early Pearl after his bass player (Chris Ivey) left their current project to join Early Pear. Chris found the majority of his musical success while with Early Pearl. Reaching it's peak in 2009 Early Pearl played at the Rock on the Range festival in Columbus Ohio where they shared the stage with names such as Motley Crue, Alice N Chains, Korn, Avenge Sevenfold and a host of other great bands. Chris currently has a home studio where he writes music, teaches, and works with several different bands and friends contributing music to their projects. I love to rock! \m/
