Omar Khan Biography
Omar Khan is the veritable artist. The self-taught musician, singer, songwriter, producer and photographer has been honing his craft for years and is now set to release his debut single and record “The Getaway”. Khan says, “For me, I had to literally get away from everything that was around me, the music, the city, and people I love”. Having locked himself in his room for months, Khan began writing from his own experiences on life and love. His music takes you on a journey, sifting through genres of Pop, R&B, Soul, Hip Hop and folk seamlessly. In the summer of 2011, Omar met Chin Injeti through a friend at Shine Nightclub in Vancouver. He recognized Canadian singer Esthero on the street and asked her to sing her Cee-lo duet “Gone”. As she did, he countered with Cee Lo’s Harmony part and the familiar tone prompted an invite to Injeti’s studio the next day. From there, a relationship was formed. “Omar is one of the greatest artists I know”, says Injeti, whose resume includes Eminem, Aloe Blacc, Drake, and Pink. “He’s an incredible writer, he’s an incredible singer, he embodies his music. Omar has opened up for artists such as De La Soul, Prince, Aloe Blacc, and the Voices In the Park day fest (w/ Stevie Nicks, Bryan Adams) among others. Also being chosen as one of nine artists to sing in Rock Legend's U2's single for "song for someone".
