Oli_N derives his style from a fusion from a fusion of electronica, disco, detroit house, leftfield techno and everything between. Based on his musical knowledge and experience from classical art, he often elaborates versatile DJ sets, easily detectable and enhanced in order to appeal to a broad audience without compromising its qualities. His first contact with electronic music scene was in 2005 when he started organising open-air festivals and parties in and around his hometown of Sternberk, a rather sleepy town in the east of the Czech Republic, that went on to become a staple of the back-then local clubbing community. In 2006, Oli_N decided to move to London for a year in order to give another twist to his music career. It was where he met local DJs and producers and started playing in squats and warehouse parties around the bourgeoning area of East London. After a few years in the hustle and bustle of London life, Oli_N went back to his homeland where he co-founded the Freeculture festival, spreading his music taste around the Czech scene. 2010 marks Oli_N’s second transition to London, this time playing and producing countless soirées like Cartuli’s Day, Overflow, Silence in venues such as Richmix, Cafe 1001, Crucifix Lane, Rhythm Factory, Cable, Egg, Red Gallery and so on. Since 2012, he has been working at Phonica Records, the legendary Soho institution and a hub for crate-diggers and vinyl lovers alike. In the same year, he co-founded Little Beat Different, a collective of London-based producers who aim to channel music without any boundaries to the demanding London audiences, notably through a series of club events together with a regular show on The Docks Studios Stream. While busy cooking up even more exciting future plans, he still reminisces the In summer months of 2014 he held residency at Red Gallery’s summer club nights, Red Saturdays, entertaining crowds in a large outdoor space accommodating a cocktail bar, delicious street food and exhibitions featuring some of the hottest local and international graffiti art. The year 2015 marks big preparations as the Little Beat Different project enlarges with two music labels : LBDISSUES, focusing on ressurection of forgotten music from pre-1989 Czechoslovakia and & LBDAUDIO, aimed at showcasing recent production of the crew and participants both on vinyl & digital; both will be released via Lobster Theremin. The crew’s regular broadcasts from The Docks Studios have also brought about plenty of great names and collaborations. In 2016 Oli_N has been spending a lot of time on the road, appearing in Germany - Berlin, Italy, Croatia, Poland, Slovakia and his native Czech Republic, with first releases of the labels coming in August. Year 2017 Is all about big changes. Oli_N went recently touring down under, with scheduled gigs in Bangkok and Bali and Sydney where he is based at the moment, hunting for gigs, scouting new artists for the label and enjoying sunny lifestyle.
