The Backwoods Massacre is by no means a “conventional modern metal act”. TBM was formed in the fall of 2010 and does not allow modern media or trends to dictate their direction

TBM is a fusion of 80's and 90's Death and Thrash metal with the more melodic European styles. TBM draws influences from acts such as Pantera, Metallica, MegaDeth, Death, Iron Maiden, Arch Enemy,King Diamond.Danzig,Wasp,Lamb of God and also many classic theatrical acts.

TBM is a three piece consisting of Peter Mallard on vocals, Henry Thompson on guitar, and Chris Reynolds on drums Their sound is a onslaught of heavy, aggressive guitar, steamrolling drums, and vocals that range from singing to deathly growls and high pitched shrieks.
