Sami Grisafe

Sami Grisafe is Los Angeles Based artist, co-founder/emcee of the long-running private concert series, SunSeshLA, and Team USA World MVP Quarterback. The Hotel Café show on June 3, 2023 will mark the vinyl release of the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, Open Field, an award-winning documentary chronicling Sami’s trailblazing achievement in sports.

Combining autobiographical lyrics, live-game audio, driving beats and anthemic melodies, Sami co-wrote the soundtrack with Eren Cannata (Demi Lovato, Andra Day) and KOIL (Timbaland). The singles, “Manifest” and “Trophies,” and accompanying music videos were shot at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

Sami’s first love was football, but music and performance are in her DNA. Growing up in Southern California, Sami’s love of watching her parents perform made her as passionate to take the stage as she was to take the field. Sami found herself at odds with the advice she was receiving - “Choose sports or the arts. You can’t do both”. Since she ignored that advice, Sami was awarded Chicago Music Awards Rock Entertainer of the Year for her electrifying live performances and Action ICON’s Dare 2B Different Award. She also performed an acoustic version of her original song, “Key of Us” on Showtime’s Original Series “Work in Progress”.

Now, Sami’s roots as a trailblazing female athlete and dynamic performer have merged. Open Field had its world premiere at the Austin Film Festival - a behind the scenes story of Sami’s football career and the obstacles facing female football players. The film has garnered Best Documentary, Jury and Audience Awards at festivals across the U.S. and was broadcast on the NFL Network for the 50th Anniversary of Title IX. Sami is a motivational speaker featured in film festival panels, SXSW, and keynotes combined with performance (Cusp Conference, Equality Lounge at AdWeek), which she fondly calls Rock Talks. Sami earned a BFA in Acting from the Theater Conservatory at Chicago College of Performing Arts.
