She Could Be Trouble Biography

Named ‘Vocalist of the Year’ at the Vancouver Island Music Awards in 2014, and Nominated for ‘Best Live Act at both 2013 & 2014 VIMA’s, Brodie Dawson has once again proven that breaking many of the established rules in music and staying true to her own style works. Her crossover through genres, blending of influences and her pure unmistakeable talent sets her apart and delivers something truly unique. It’s not often we find an artist that has you unable to look away while she effortlessly delivers a rawness and passion that stays with you long after. When asked what her style is, she can only say: “It’s soulful ‘bluesy’ folk, with a gospel funk, a twist of pop and a twang of old-school country’. Each of Brodie’s stories in song, is infectious and captivating and you hear a piece of your own story in hers…she hits the mark each time. Her latest single release ‘All This Time’ has had an overwhelming response, being nominated for ‘Best Roots/Folk Recording of the Year at the 2015 Vancouver Island Music Awards. It embodies all of what we have come to expect from Brodie Dawson and more. So many have found a place in their hearts for this girl that speaks the truth through song. Brodie has been turning heads with her live show which has earned her a place in hearts of many new fans last summer. She pushed her amazing sounds off numerous stages in 2014 including the main stage at SunFest Country Music Festival - playing to record crowds, The Filberg Festival, Folk on the Rocks Festival, Serenity Music Festival to name a few. www.brodiedawson.com www.facebook.com/BrodieDawsonMusic www.youtube.com/user/TheBrodiedawson ------------------------------------- For Christy, a music-filled life was almost inevitable. Born to musical parents, Christy Vanden grew up moving from place to place, traveling to Mexico in a Volkswagen van, and playing her tiny orange classical guitar from age seven. For some time now, she has been happily touring with Brodie, who recognized immediately, the talent within. Asked to join alongside Brodie and hoist an electric guitar has proved to be a perfect match. Combining forces as part of this touring trio of fantastic female musicians is allowing her old soul talent to shine! Her performance on the Sunfest Country Music Festival (2014) main stage, which supported crowds of 30 000 that weekend was pure magic. At age 20, Christy is bringing her own style of playing to an old school, revered club of ‘Those that wield a Fender Stratocaster American Tradition, Electric Guitar’. This girl is not all power and push - she is equally at home picking beautifully on her acoustic, entrancing you with her smartly crafted songs and delicate sweet voice. Feeling she is finding her place in music, she hopes to continually improve her art and deepen her songwriting. This is her first tour featuring her own original songs, and she is very much enjoying the ride! Christy appears to have lived centuries prior and this version is pure lovely and musical. www.facebook.com/ChristyVandenMusic www.youtube.com/user/MsMusicallyInclined9 The fabulously dynamic Tracy Riley, who hails from Yellowknife, NT, has been beguiling audiences across North America for years with her soulful rich voice and off-grid humor.
