Bad Bad Meow

Chicago by way of the deep south of North Carolina, BAD BAD MEOW are old pals of ours at this point. They were here performing for the December Glitter Creeps night and, apparently, they just can’t get enough of this place. The feeling is mutual, fellas. Stacking hook atop catchy hook, BBM straps the boots on once again to kick down a few more walls with their third release, the EP Run Through the Middle. The collection of tracks starts with a kick, downshifts and then kicks even harder, blending gritty vocals and acoustic instrumentation with some Carolina twang to bring Chicago a voice it ain't used to hearing. Joining in this fun-filled evening is LEGGY, a swoon punk / jawbreaker pop / rock n roll crew from Cincinnati. Making their Bottle debut, these self-described "blond-heavy nü garage indie punk poptarts" just dropped their latest EP, Killer, on Manic Static last month. Newish Chicago group VARSITY are back after making their EB appearance last February. They’re bringing along their sunny garage-pop that's making all the boys and girls wet themselves with excitement. After creating major buzz with their first album, Thanks for Nothing, they released their second album, self-titled, this past March. The Redeye mentioned in their “10 under-the-radar, must-own Chicago releases from 2015.” Kicking things off is Chicago band SEWN UP, another first-timer bringing their straight up alternative rock to the EB stage.
