Drawing from numerous stylistic inspirations, Cameron's music varies from pop and rock to acoustic ballads, or whatever style down which the inspirational path leads him at any time. Award winning singer / songwriter Cameron Mitchell has taken on the multi-instrumentalist role as well as producing. He is influenced heavily by The Whitlams, Thirsty Merc, and Regina Spektor. Although Cameron considers himself as more a keyboard player / pianist, he also now draws upon his "guitar slinger" alter-ego, playing slide, lead and acoustic guitar on a number of tracks. Cameron uses elements of both his own life and background influences to create songs rich and soulful lyrically, with arresting acoustic pop sensibilities.
