About this concert
Raised in the rich festival scene of Northern B.C., the Racket know how to get a dance floor (or dirt field) grooving, as well as satisfying more intimate settings with an acoustic set. You can expect tight n’ funky grooves, slow n’ steady blues, and the driving force of stomp-folk with a theme of social change.www.theracketofficial.caHachey the mouthPEACE, based out of Hamilton, ON, has a mind-blowing beatbox set. Technically, Jason Hachey is a beatboxer. However, what he does is so much more: he records, loops, and creates beats as he beatboxes – in essence creating original songs each time he performs. www.hacheythemouthpeace.bandcamp.comBright City Heights were born in a Prince George music store. Influenced by rock, pop, funk, and folk together, they blend into a powerful and textured sound.www.brightcityheights.comTickets are available now from Books and Company and Studio 2880 for $30 + GST. $35 at the door. You can also purchase tickets online (additional fees are to cover the cost of online sales).

Bright City Heights Biography

Bright City Heights began in Prince George, BC when Lee-Wai Yu returned to his home town from a 3 year stint in Vancouver. An immediate bond was formed between the members (Nick Tindale and David Baycroft) when they first jammed in a local music store (Sound Factory) in 2013. Each member brings a unique influence of rock, pop, funk, and folk to blend into the powerful and textured sound of Bright City Heights. More recently the talented Patrick Michaud stumbled into the groups jam space in September of 2014, and soon after joined the members to make Bright City Heights complete and what they are today. Since their recent beginning, Bright City Heights has had some early successes in the Northern music scene. Lee-Wai Yu, the band’s singer and songwriter, became the first winner of 101.3 The River’s “The Voice” competition in 2014, and in 2013, David Baycroft won a regional singer/songwriter competition. These victories opened the doors for Bright City Heights to record their debut singles “Ivory” and “My Dear” with Rick Irvine at Cheslatta Records. These two songs are currently playing on Prince George’s biggest music stations 101.3 The River and 93.1 CFIS FM. The support of the radio stations and the regional music community has created an undeniable buzz around Bright City Heights and has led to sold out shows from Prince George to Prince Rupert. www.brightcityheights.com www.twitter.com/bcityheights www.youtube.com/brightcityheights www.brightcityheights.bandcamp.com
