Incipit

¨Incipit performs their take on blackened death metal; uncompromising and furious, delivering technical passages yet infused with a good portion of heavy and slower riffs to bang your heads off to. Musically rooted between black and death metal with lyrical content exploring every dark aspect of mankind, Incipit is on a mission to be a sonic fist in your face! In June 2015 Incipit will head into BunkerWorkz Studio, recording their first full length CD, while preparing their first major appearance at the Bloodstock Festival in the UK in August. The CD will be self-financed and self-released. A small Norwegian tour is also being planned for November/December 2015. Incipit is based out of Stavanger, Norway – an area steeped in metal history. Founded in late 2011 by Stian Johannessen, former drummer of Aeternus/Eld/Gehenna, Morten Steen (guitar), Finn Henriksen (bass) from Allfader and Ronny Fredriksen (guitar) of Antaios. Morten Steen left the band early in 2012, immediately being replaced by Eric Moen. Starting as a rhythm guitarist Eric was asked to handle the lead vocals as well as playing guitar, making him Incipit’s front man early on. The remainder of 2012 was spent by the band constructing their studio, BunkerWorkz, named so because it’s located in an old bomb shelter. In 2013 the band recorded and released the “PROMO 2013” containing 4 songs targeting venues and record labels for shows and a record deal. Just before the release of the promo, Ronny left the band on personal matters, leaving the band to transfer Finn from bass to guitar while looking for a replacement bass player. After some months of auditions Incipit found a new permanent bass player in Christina Olufsen. In October 2014 the band debuted live onstage at Tribute, Sandnes, delivering a solid performance, subsequently being asked to sign up for and compete in the Metal 2 The Masses competition for UK’s Bloodstock Festival. Shortly after the first concert, Finn, decided to leave Incipit because of a demanding work schedule. Now, yet again, lacking a guitar player the band once more set out on the task of finding a suitable guitarist. After only a short time of looking, Peder Rusdal, was auditioned as a session member for upcoming live shows. Peder revealed an interest to join as a permanent member after only 1 concert making Incipit with a complete line-up once again. Incipit attended and won the 3rd round at Metal 2 The Masses, sending the band onto the final. On 16th May the band competed against 4 other local bands and won the final as well, landing Incipit a slot on the New Blood Stage at the Bloodstock Festival in August 2015.
