Gilles Van Schoorisse - Ghent - Student - DJ/Piano/Drums I already started at the age of 7 with my passion for music. First I followed private lessons to learn to play the drums. Eventually I continued my music career at the Emiel Hullebroeck Academie in Gentbrugge. The first instrument I chose were the drums, my favourite hobby at that time. After a few years of AMV & AMC, I decided to choose an extra instrument, which was without hesitating, piano. The first few years were just classic piano, but already after a few lessons I started learning more modern songs on the piano, more jazz/popp style, all by myself. So after nine years I received my diploma at the academy. During the last years at the music academy, I got in touch with more dance/elektronic/RnB/.. genres, which made me want to know and learn all about it. My dad, owner of a booking agency, TTT ARTISTS, has a lot of experience in the branche, he works together with some of the best bands & artists here in Belgium. So from time to time I was able to come along with my dad and see different DJ's on their stages(2MANYDJ'S, Regi, DJ Wout,..). I couldn't resist and wanted to be on that stage too. So at the age of 14 I bought my first DJ-Controller and started exercising and experimenting with it every single day! A few years later the first gigs came in. In the beginning they were more private events, but not long after that more real parties in discotheques and clubs followed. (Check my facebook page to see where I played and with whom I had the chance to share the decks with!) Today it's a habit of mine to play few times in a month at different locations.. Today I can still use those experiences, which I learned durig those years at the music academy, to work in the "DJ-world"; productions, melodies, samples, rhythms,.. It's daily bussiness! I started producing, in my own studio that I'm building, and each time I'm there I can feel the progress! Since january 2K16 I also started with my piano-hobby, gradually some people contacted me to play on more "serious" events, when they need some (background) piano music. It would be nice that this turns out to be an even bigger succes as my DJ-career. It has taken a few lucky moments to get to where I am now, but it has also taken a lot of hard work and even some difficult times.
