Bijan Taghavi, 18, is a jazz pianist who is currently studying under scholarship as a sophomore at the Manhattan School of Music. Bijan has had a vast and diverse playing experience, namely as the featured pianist performing with Grammy artist Nestor Torres, featured in the Orange County Register as the 2013 "Young Star of the Future" for a prize winning performing alongside the South Coast Symphony, and as a regular guest having performed, been interviewed, and featured on Jazz Quest Radio KX 93.5 Laguna Beach, California. He also hosted the weekly Jazz Night at Port in Corona Del Mar in 2015, which showcased and brought together Southern California's finest jazz musicians in the trio setting: including Luther Hughes, James Yoshizawa, Chris Hon, Adam Gardner, John Hatton, among others. Now in demand in the NYC and Southern California jazz scenes, performances have included many venues such as Alva's Showroom, Jazz at the Merc, Minton's Playhouse Harlem, Birdland Jazzista Social Club in Oakland, Croce's Park West, Soka Performing Arts Center, Renee & Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, Berklee Performance Center, Bowers Museum, Schumacher Hall, La Sierra University, Malibu Symphony, and Laguna Sound Recording Lounge, among others.
