Katelyn Benton

Katelyn Benton’s background in classical piano combined with exceptional songwriting and rock influence has shaped her music into something unique in a world of pop clones. In 2012, she releases a new record featuring Katelyn's songwriting and piano produced by film scorer, Scott Nickoley. Growing up between Colorado and Louisiana, Katelyn developed a wide variety of musical taste and performance experience, gigging regularly by age 12. Almost ten years ago, Katelyn’s song for Columbine High School got her noticed by Denver music producer, Bob Tyler and vocal coach Celeste Krenz. Together they released the Columbine inspired song, which eventually lead to the recording and release of Katelyn’s first full-length album “Sycamore Street” in 2001. During Katelyn’s time at Berklee College of Music in Boston, she and her band practiced and gigged throughout Boston and New York- quickly expanding Katelyn’s reputation and fan base. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2007, Katelyn began working on Once, a new EP of all new original songs. In August of 2009 Katelyn's music video for "Impossible Love" won the Best Music Video award at the Just Plain Folks Awards in Nashville. The Just Plain Folks Awards is the largest award show for independent musicians in the world! In 2011, Benton broke ground on her first full-length debut album produced by Scott Nickoley (South Park). Katelyn is currently traveling primarily between Los Angeles, Louisiana, and Denver, recording, writing new music, and playing for new audiences.
