The Sick Livers Biography
The Sick Livers were South Wales' glam punk anti-heroes. Once described by Pure Rawk as "coming on like one part Turbonegro, one part Zodiac Mindwarp and one part Backyard Babies." They were reknowed for their rabble rousing and unpredictable shows and DIY ethics. This gutter level rock 'n' roll 5 piece fast became one of the UK's must-see live bands. After two EP's, a split 7" via Japan, their debut album 'Motors, Women, Drugs, Booze & Killing' was released by Glunk Records in 2014 to rave reviews in the underground punk press, as well as hitting the pages of Vive Le Rock, Classic Rock and Terrorizer Magazine. Their second and final album 'Mid Liver Crisis' landed on 1st August 2015 to outstanding critical acclaim and was released on vinyl, CD, cassette and download via Glunk Records (UK) and Baldy Longhair Records (USA). The 10 track DIY affair was recorded at Newport's Le Pub and featured a guest appearance from Andy Cairns (Therapy?). UK Subs' Charlie Harper declared lead track 'Dark, Dangerous & Delicious' as "the best song Hanoi Rocks never wrote!" The album received plaudits from the underground press and made many Best of 2015 lists. Sadly, The Sick Livers were laid to rest in June 2016 after a monumental sudden final show, aptly at Wales' Slugfest. “The Sick Livers? Hate the condition, love the fuckin’ band!” GLEN MATLOCK (SEX PISTOLS)
