Heralding from the beautiful land of South Africa in 2002 it was decided at the infamous Alien Safari/Vortex/Entica Kruger Park solar eclipse festival to become a psytrance dj. After falling entranced to the dance floor, the exciting sounds of this up and coming genre he found his way on to a small label called Stomping Records . 2 years of djing he joined Alien Safari as a event co-ordinator and then as a dj for their record label company Afrogalactic it was all systems go. SoNiC has dj'd to all corners of South Africa from the highveld and savannahs of Johannesburg to the banana soaked beaches of Durban to the windswept city of Port Elizabeth. Entertained students in Grahamstown on their festival days to the mind blowing psychedelic home of African trance which is the mother city Cape Town and the festivals that frequent the calendar over the 8 months spring/summer season such as Alien Safari/Rezonance NYE/Nano Origin/Vortex Open Source/Vortex Parallel/Village/Groovy Troopers/Altered States/Organik/MMD/Jungala/Redeye/FuCha. Toured in 2015 to Portugal (Space Drops Music), Poland (Goadupa Music Festival) and Germany (Munich's Backstage festival). SoNiC joined South African/Portuguese record label One Foot groove 3 years ago and with Alien Safari he has not looked back and with over 13 years of djing to multicultural dance floors all over South Africa. SoNiC has accumulated a vast knowledge of psychedelic psytrance and knows how to get a dance floor going at any time slot and from the 142 bpm - 148 bpm range and has shared stages with some of the biggest names in the business from local to international. SoNiC is also known for delving into other sounds within the psytrance world and 2 years ago began a progressive psy dj act called Verax which has been turning heads and ears around.Verax has a techy/progressive trance psy edge at the 132-138 bpm range. Growing up on a diet of metal,alternative & electronic backround he fell into the art of Djing Psy trance with great ease in 2003!
