Revolution In Paradise

The Independent and the i are hosting a battle of the bands with five student bands from the University of Manchester. There are three stages of the competition. Firstly, local heats on university campus. Secondly, a public vote online, and finally the live final with high profile judges, which last year was hosted at Manchester’s Gorilla. Details for voting as well as footage of the bands on the night will be uploaded to the Independent Student website shortly after the gig.After the closure of the online vote, the five bands with the highest number of votes across all campus' will go through to iSessions live final in Febuary.We have 19 issessions taking place. This year we will be casting votes ON THE NIGHT of the event, everyone will be given slips, the band with the most votes on the night will be placed on the website where online votes will be cast for a winner - the top FIVE from these initial 19 will win their place in the final and be in with a chance of winning the recording studio time and festival tickets, the 4 runners up will receive prizes also.All proceeds from the event will go towards the i charity appeal, for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
