Better Than The Wizards Biography

Better Than The Wizards began as the brainchild of preschool besties Pete and Dan after they learnt their scales and picked up the sax and bass respectively. Since then, the lads have banded up with other musos who are great friends and share their desire to get the dancefloor jumping. The band has gone from strength to strength, gigging the festival scene, touring up the Australian East Coast, playing sold out shows across Melbourne, and releasing some good-time YouTube film clips featuring pirates, rooftop bars, bicycles, trampolines, and trailer solos. Better Than The Wizards recently brought some new songs to the studio with ARIA award winning sound engineer and producer Robin Mai (John Butler Trio, Augie March) who they also collaborated with for their debut album in 2014. The EP yet to come will fit nicely beside their self-titled debut album as a summertime soundtrack highlighting the best of the band from their most rambunctious to their most introspective. Both releases slot comfortably into any music lover’s collection between The Cat Empire and the aforementioned JBT. With festival appearances and tour dates to be announced in Sydney, Brisvegas, Canberra, and rAdelaide, and always more tunes in the works, it’s time to hitch a ride on the Better Than The Wizards bandwagon for a guaranteed good time. "This up-and-coming Aussie band's music will make you feel happy. With an outcome like this, there are sure to be many more albums to come." HERALD SUN
