French below: It would be difficult to categorize Lagardere, to put him in a box and to label him with a style well defined. His music is influenced by funk, jazz, hip-hop, techno. It is definitively the music in all its spectrum which revitalizes him every day and which he loves to distil with strength and a deep soul through his charmingly visionary sets and his productions. His music is marked with a kind of soft madness, making him a most singular artist, his hypnotic dancefloor gem "Pharaoh" proves it once again. Lagardere has mastered his own musical vision without any strict genre boundaries. He has released tracks on Villa Magica, Vanina Hänin, Kawaya Music, Ai Records, Viking Music, and has brought to life numerous projects such as Subtone Trio, an electrojazz combo with his father, and the infamous electrorock combo The Living Dead Boys. Playing in the underground scene in the mid-nineties, he quickly became involved in event organisation, running the Escobar, a basement devoted to electronic culture and live performances in Geneva. For more than four years living in Berlin, Lagardere has played in every main club of the city, as well as traveled extensively around the globe making crowds dance, with a talent to build every set into a unique musical trip. Awarded in 2002 from the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts - Genève - cinéma section, Lagardere was born and raised into an artistic family, and began to learn music when we was 6 years old. His father was a professional trumpeter for 40 years, performing in the world acclaimed classical orchestra "L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande". Curious about all forms of music, he naturally turned to spinning records under different aliases. His still growing appetite for rhythm and non-stop passion for music continues to push him to study drum, piano and singing, allowing him to flourish as a drummer and lead vocalist in numerous local bands. He’s gonna tour in 2018 with an electro solo pop performance MFEDL (Memories from Electric Distant Lands), a one hour epic space ride ranging from deep pop electro to techno, with a set-up including led programming, visuals and scenic elements built especially for the show. The release of the very first single extracted from the show “Beautiful Minds”, remixed by Eric D. Clark, will be out in June on Vanina Hänin. His first solo album MFEDL, on which his live act is based, will be released on Vanina Hänin, physically, on vinyl, special 300 copies limited edition, in 2018. His brand new project EERIA, a blend of techno and cinematographic moods, featuring the talented singer LaMeduza, has been supported by Vice Magazine, the music video NYX ft. LaMeduza being premiered on Noisey. - Difficile de catégoriser Dan Lagardere, de le ranger dans une boîte et de l’étiqueter avec un style bien défini tant sa musique est empreinte de milliers d’influences, du funk au jazz, du hip-hop à la techno. C’est définitivement la musique dans tout son spectre qui le revitalise chaque jour et qu’il distille avec force et bonheur à travers ses sets délicieusement visionnaires, empreints d’une douce folie et qui font de lui un artiste des plus singulier. Ses lives et ses productions transportent une foule de souvenirs liés à une jeunesse passée dans une famille de musiciens, sa production électronique commencera d’ailleurs avec le projet “Subtone Trio”, un combo électro jazz avec son père trompettiste. S’enchaîneront de multiples projets tels que le trio électro rock “The Living Dead Boys”. Il crée ensuite son propre label “Vanina Hänin” sur lequel est sorti récemment l’une de ses productions “Pharaoh”, puissant et explosif club-hit hypnotique, présent sur “The Sand Storm EP”, et “Take A Deep Breath EP”, productions à nouveau singulières, percussives et mélodiques à la fois, sa patte étant toujours reconnaissable et unique. Touche à tout, de la batterie au chant en passant par l’image en tant que réalisateur, Dan Lagardere se dit éclectique et dynamiteur de frontières musicales, et a résolument une vision toujours aussi personnelle de la performance: capter l’énergie du moment, les pulsations du public, et partager, chercher, en n’oubliant jamais d’intriguer, voire d’étonner, la curiosité étant pour lui loin d’être un vilain défaut. Il sera en tournée en 2018 avec une performance electro space pop utilisant un dispositif led, des visuels et des éléments scéniques construits spécialement pour le show: MFEDL (Memories from Electric Distant Lands), un voyage spatial d’une heure oscillant en deep electro, pop et techno. Le premier single, sorti en juin 2015 sur le label Vanina Hänin, “Beautiful Minds”, a été remixé par Eric D. Clark. La sortie de son premier album solo, sur lequel le live MFEDL est basé, sortira courant 2018 sur le label Vanina Hänin, en support physique limité, tiré à 300 exemplaires en vinyl. Son tout nouveau projet EERIA, un mélange de techno et d’ambiances cinématographiques, avec la talentueuse chanteuse LaMeduza, s’est vu soutenu par Vice Magazine, le clip vidéo NYX ft.
