Bloid

Bloid is a metalband that started out in February 2006. With several experienced metalheads from local metalbands, a new and loud band was born in the North of Holland. Bloid means ‘happy’ in dutch dialect. Cheerfull name, heavy music! Interesting about this metalband is that it is not your typical metalband with an angry attitude. Giving solid shows and having a good time is much more important than creating a ‘mean’ attitude. After working for years as a powertrio, the line up changed into a mob of four! The music on the other hand is dead serious! This approach has brought the band a lot of opportunities to perform live and created lots of goodwill with bookers and venues. There have been a lot of performances in the last years throughout Holland. Some nice highlights are the supports they’ve done for Sepultura, Pro-Pain, Arch Enemy, Gojira, Hatesphere, Textures and Sinister. Watching Bloid live is like a Tsunami washing their metal al over the crowd. Enthousiasm, energy and power are just a few key words to describe the Bloid live sensation. Only a four piece band but with the intensity and brutality of 8. After several demo’s Bloid has released the full length album Rise to Ruination in 2014. With this album Bloid has been picked up by the Italian label Wormhole Death. The album is distributed throughout all of Europe and Japan. Bloid is currently working on new songs to be released in EP's and mostly downloadable and streamable. Een fris, nieuw, enthousiast en vooral hard alternatief biedt welkome variatie in het magere metalen aanbod in Noord-Holland. Al snel verovert Bloid regionaal en ook landelijk waardering voor hun recht-toe-recht-aan beukmetal. Bloid, Westfries voor blij. Opgewekte naam, loodzware klanken. Waar andere bands uit het genre er een stoer metal imago op na houden houdt Bloid het allemaal wat luchtiger.Teksten bevatten metalthema’s met een twist; een serialkiller met Alzheimer (F.U.B.A.R.) of plotselinge drang tot…(Sudden Urge). Deze relaxte benadering in combinatie met bloedserieuze muziek heeft zeker het nodige respect opgeleverd. Er zijn in de afgelopen jaren al behoorlijk wat optredens verzorgd door heel Nederland. Uitschieters zijn de supports die Bloid heeft mogen verzorgen voor Sepultura, Pro-Pain, Arch Enemy, Gojira, Hatesphere, Textures en Sinister. Na diverse demo´s (‘Bloid’ 2006, ‘Chaos, dat had je vroeger niet’ 2008, ‘Momentum’ 2009) is in 2014 het eerste full length album ‘Rise to Ruination’ uitgebracht. Dit album is opgepikt door het Italiaanse label Wormhole Death en heeft de band een distributie deal in Europa en Japan opgeleverd. Momenteel werkt Bloid aan nieuw werk op dat vervolgens te releasen in EP's (dus sneller en vaker nieuwe dosis Bloid voor je oren). Dits zal voornamelijk digitaal beschikbaar worden.
