Handsaw

The band was Born on the final of 2012 in Curicica/RJ. On the earlier days, the band was composed by Vitor Arante on drums and Gabriel Gomes on guitar. This two have played together for years, with several projects and bands, this chemistry between this two musician makes them want to search for something brutal and faster! Newely arrived from Recife, Edson Baros, well known for his beastly voice joined the band and complete the first ever formation of Handsaw. With the band taking form, the rehearsals starts, few songs written and fastly realized that it’s possible to do a first show to see what would be the reaction of people who would attend the concert and their first songs. The first show was in Curicica, their ‘’HomeFavela’’ at a football field, with no grass, terrible equipment and all the worst conditions to play a concert were there. Fortunately for the band, were more or less, one-hundred people and it was an insane concert, the people were open-mouthed about this brutal songs they made. After this successful event, the thirst of making a Brutal and Sick Death metal grew increasingly at the rehearsals and concerts they had all over RJ, and, the possibility of recording a ‘’Single’’ or a ‘’EP’’ was real. Several months coocking their ideas, finally they took the chance of record their first single called, ‘’Lacerate the Soul’’ and in the mean time, they’ve found their former bass player, Paulo Otávio, which consequently recorded the Bass lines. Recorded and Released the first single on the year 2013, ‘’Lacerate the Soul’’ caused a really good impression in the ‘’Scene’’ of RJ, the band had consistency, played several shows and the band had a bright future, with this opinions. In the mean time, the band wanted a second guitarist, to support Gabriel in some music cadences and to make the songs sound even more brutal than they were. Gabriel and Vitor knew a guy that was taking his first steps in the world of guitar and even better, he was the childhood best friend of this two, his name is Leandro Rodrigo, he was a fastest learner, he learned all the songs as fast as he could, because the band needed to do several shows in that time, and notice, he was taking the first steps! The band was finally formed by Vitor Arante on Drums, Gabriel Gomes and Leandro Rodrigo on the Guitars, Edson Baros Vocals and Paulo Otávio on the Bass. More shows came that year, again all over Rio, but now, they played on midsize events and they sure could dream with a further EP. Unfortunately, for the band, when they were finishing the recording sessions, Paulo Otávio left the band, we were almost at the final of 2013. With several unfinished songs, Gabriel and Leandro recorded the unfinished bass lines of the EP and stressing that they had recorded all the bass lines of the second single of the band called ‘’OSHO’’ witch was released on December that year. After that setback and finally finishing the recording sessions of this (UNREALEASED) EP, Vitor found their currently portuguese lower-end Ricardo Amorim, witch was newly arrived from Portugal and he was trying to find a way to play Death Metal and at least Handsaw gave him that oportunity. On 2014 the band is formed by Vitor Arante on Drums, Gabriel Gomes and Leandro Rodrigo on the Guitars, Edson Baros Vocals and Ricardo Amorim on Bass. Between concerts and Rehearsals on that year the band decided to Re-record some vocals and the basslines of the EP, but they tought a little bit more that it isn’t enough for the band, they want more than a EP and they had decided to record a full length album instead of Re-record the EP. They did everything all over again, the guitars, drums, bass and vocals. Early 2015, the album ‘’Ogre’’ was fastely recorded and the third single was released in a lyric video called ''Dead'' and the first Video Clip ''Osho'' The band is proudly to anounce that is at the final statement of the recording sessions.
