Our Story Toronto, ON Canadian metal band Caym have been rising through the metal scene heavily the last while. With their take no bullshit groove metal style that is seemingly missing in metal today, this band is renewing real metal to its core. After touring the country, plus 5 releases including great reviews on their 2011 EP (BWBK says "CAYM could be a Canuck band to keep an eye on") and also adding on their 2013 release "From Red To Black" (BWBK says "The title track closes off the album as a cool race-to-the-finish nailbiter instrumental thrasher, which is a nice touch. A nice thick production rounds off this indie effort, which is sure to please those who like their metal filled with grooves and simple to digest") and releasing a very highly regarded version of "Winged Assassins" by legendary metal band ANVIL on Skol Records in Europe. Caym is gearing up for some much bigger things to come with the band saying "We are just getting started!". Montreal, QB born member Jay "Beard" Sarrazin started CAYM in 2006 while living in Mississauga, ON with Gord Laferla. After 2 releases with Jay "Beard" Sarrazin on guitar and drums (Thriving on Chaos - 2008 and Chapter 1: Memoirs of a Madman - 2010) and even receiving an endorsement from Jagermeister, they joined forces with drummer Tyler Reiner. Immediately the band was anxious to write and renew their sound. Recording their "White" EP in 26 hours, Caym found their signature groove style that started to become known in 2013 with their release of "From Red To Black". After releasing "From Red To Black" Caym embarked on a country wide headline tour to support the album and break more ground in new cities including some additional shows with Skeletonwitch on that tour. They have also had the privilege to tour with legendary band Anvil on multiple occasions while not only playing all shows on tour, but working for Anvil as their Tech's, Drivers, Merch Guys and Loaders, doing double duties everyday playing their own set and working Anvils set. They have also had the privilege of opening for some great metal acts like: As I Lay Dying, Cryptopsy, The Agonist, Joey Belladonna(Anthrax), Baptized in Blood, Memphis May Fire, Dog Fashion Disco, Exciter and more. With their eyes set on growing, Caym is constantly writing for their next release. After the departure of Gord Laferla and Tyler Reiner from Caym, Jay "Beard" Sarrazin is again rebuilding Caym to the next level, along with their sound. After finding shredder Evan Archer out of Newmarket On and big man bass player Tiny Basstank out of Burlington On, and finding such a great chemistry as a unit the excitement of the future is growing daily! Caym is ready to come and destroy your town where ever that may be!
