The Violent Years Biography
The Violent Years emerged out of the muddy sumps behind the sunny facade of the coastal smalltown Mandal, Norway. Their music is definitely a blend of various inspirations from the innovative chord-changes The Beatles developed, to the emotional transcendental exploit of americana and alternative country.
Live is where the sound and the energy really flourish, from pianoballads and gentle harmonies that melt hearts, exploding without warning into a wall of sound that make you think of old Bruce Springsteen and The Bad Seeds.
The most interesting besides the uniqe melodylines and intensity in their performing is how they interpret all their influences. In their absolute brightest moments they’re a band that summon mysteries and grasp moments.
---
Their debut album ”Trying to Get Over” was released November 2012 in Norway by
Teigene Kultur. A doublesingle "Head Over Heels" was released summer 2013.
The single “Fountain of Youth” was released Desember 2017 as the first single for the forthcoming album “I Blame You and You Blame Me”.
