Birthday Candles

Just as the name suggests, Birthday Candles are a shimmering embodiment of reflection, hope, and wishful thinking alike. Sparked in the summer of 2013, their journey began when Matt Garamy (guitar/vocals) and Richie Vasta (bass) sent a handful of demos across country to drummer John Hinde. Soon after the initial assembly, the band's lineup developed into and even stronger force than the trio had anticipated when old time friend Mike Calabria signed on to play rhythm guitar. Although Matt, Mike, and John grew up as friends sharing the stage together in south Florida since 2001, it wasn't until Birthday Candles formed that their values and efforts would finally be fused as one. There is an indisputable connection between the quartet's live performance and their debut E.P., Letters From Home, recorded at Garamy's This Is Not Dead Studios. By blending indie, punk, and power pop, Birthday Candles express emotionally vibrant songs instilled with a vigorous spirit and a refreshing perspective on past, present, and future. With one international festival already under their belt (Pouzza Fest IV), it's just a matter of time before Birthday Candles deliver their brashly engaging charm and anthemic pop songs to main stages worldwide.
