Rya Biography
Rya Biography
Rya are a 3 piece band based in Oslo, Norway. Formed late in 2014, the band is comprised of Helge Meissner (drums), Stuart Clarke (gtr/vocals), and Esteban Choy Pernia (bass/vocals).
2015 has been a good first year for the band with successful gigs around Oslo, the recording of new material, and airplay on radio stations in Canada and the U.K.
With influences ranging from The Clash to Bob Dylan and The Beatles, various labels have been pinned to the band including indie, punk/pop, alternative, or even rock, but for an idea of what the band really sound like check out ‘Conversations’; a 14 track collection of songs that can be heard on Spotify or bought at all major online retailers.
It’s the songs on this collection that form the backbone of the band’s live performances.
Rya’s plans for 2016 are just to play as many gigs as possible and continue writing and recording new material.
The band’s philosophy is quite simple;
‘We just want to play. We don’t care about money; we just want people to have a good time.
